Updated UK trade data showing figures up to the end of December 2024 confirmed that while wheat and maize imports remained strong, pace dropped back in the month of December.

UK feed wheat futures (May-25) fell £0.25/t over the week (Friday-Friday) to close at £189.40/t. The Nov-25 contract gained £2.05/t, settling at £198.00/t.

In January, the difference between the UK’s monthly average ex-farm spot prices for bread and feed wheat narrowed to £22.8/t, down from £24.50/t in December and £66.40/t in January last year.

Old crop (May-25) UK feed wheat futures reached a new low on Thursday, finishing the week at £178.50/t (Friday to Friday), down £6.05/t from the previous week.
